Presales Consultant Demand Planning

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Pre-Sales Consultant for our Demand Management solutions that will play a critical role in the continued growth of our company.  Our Pre-Sales consultants are subject matter experts in Supply Chain Planning, Retail Planning, & Demand Management who can determine the customer’s business challenges and clearly demonstrate the value and capabilities of products to retailers.

My client is a premier provider of enterprise software running Supply Chain Planning, Demand Management, e-Commerce, Merchandise Management, Business Intelligence and Store Operations for large and mid-size retailers, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Barneys New York, Hard Rock Café, London Jewelers, Talbots and many more.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**):

  • Lead consultative solution selling sessions with customers and potential customers in the RFP, discovery, demonstration, and follow-up phases
  • Conduct detailed discovery meetings and live demonstrations of the Supply Chain Planning solutions
  • Ability to articulate product capabilities to C-level customer audience as well as managers and end users
  • Establish relationships with the key decision makers to facilitate a successful sales outcome
  • Understand customers’ specific business requirements and apply product knowledge to meet those needs
  • Create client specific value propositions and communicate the benefits to target customers
  • Maintain awareness of trends in the Retail industry
  • Conduct customer and prospect webinars to keep the industry informed of any new product enhancements
  • Respond to requests for information, write proposals, reports and supporting literature
  • Educate the marketplace on our product offerings including prospects, analysts, and tradeshow attendees
  • Work with Product Management for continuous product improvement

Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Understand and articulate the end-to-end value chain in retail industries in the areas of merchandising, supply chain, and multi-channel commerce
  • Possess a point of view on recent retail industry trends such as big data, mobility, omni-channel shopping, automation, etc
  • Action-oriented “can do” attitude with the ability to support complex sales with large accounts with a focus on value delivered
  • Expert level presentation, demonstration and communication skills
  • Deep domain expertise in supply chain planning applications and business challenges
  • Great collaborative skills; able to work with sales leads and other solution consultants to achieve revenue expectations
  • Ability to communicate passionately, persuasively and effectively in a variety of written and verbal formats, to various audiences including C-level executives
  • Ability to assess and articulate the business value to the prospect
  • A positive, energetic, motivated and tenacious work ethic with high standards
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required
  • Previous Pre-Sales experience is a plus, but not required
  • Previous industry experience in retail merchandise planning and / or assortment planning is a plus
  • Willingness to travel up to 60%
  • This role may also require occasional travel out of region
  • Experience with MS Office products include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is desirable
  • Previous experience with Salesforce is a plus
